This morning, a person identifying himself as an MPE employee telephoned a Walden business. The caller told our consumer that if his MPE account balance wasn't paid immediately over the phone with a credit card that his electric service would be disconnected. This is a scam. Do not pay if you are contacted with this demand. MPE does not conduct business in this manner. Please contact us if you have any concerns about your electric account balance.
