Mountain Parks Electric recently announced the winners of its 28 college/vocational scholarships, which range between $1,000 and $4,000 apiece. The scholarships are financed by MPE’s Educational Fund, which receives money from past consumers’ unclaimed margins (not through retail electric rates). Since 2004, MPE has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to local students with post-secondary education aspirations.
“As part of the community, we believe in recognizing the achievements of our local high school students” said MPE General Manager Mark Johnston. “We are proud to help them take the next academic step toward future success.”
