On May 11, 2019,  at its 70th annual meeting in Granby, Mountain Parks Electric (MPE) awarded nearly $60,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors. These scholarships are made possible by MPE’s educational trust, which receives funding from unclaimed patronage capital. Since 2004, the trust has awarded $278,000 in scholarships to local students with post-secondary education aspirations.

“It’s a privilege to assist our youth as they take the next step in life and prepare for the future,” said Mark Johnston, MPE’s General Manager. “These scholarships are one of the many ways that Mountain Parks Electric supports the communities it serves.” This year, MPE expanded the number of scholarships that it awarded from 17 to 26.
