Today, more than 60 MPE consumers reported scam callers claiming power would be shut off at their home/business immediately if they did not pay their past due MPE bill over the phone using a credit card, and that legal action was possible. Reportedly, several of the callers' numbers displayed the 970 area code and the 531 prefix. The last four numbers varied.
