Yesterday, 5 miles north of Walden, at its Whiskey Hill Solar Array, MPE hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was originally scheduled for October 2019, but was delayed by a snow storm. Months later, the pandemic further delayed the event. Last year, the 1-Megawatt array generated 2.4 million kilowatt-hours, enough to power approximately 300 homes.

MPE's power supply is currently 33 percent renewable and will be 50 percent renewable by 2024. By the end of the decade, MPE anticipates 70 percent of its power supply will come from renewable sources.
