Energy Action Plan to help Grand County Save Energy and Money
Weatherization Workshop scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Fraser Valley Library
Grand County residents have the opportunity to learn about the newly adopted Energy Action Plan developed by Sustainable Grand, Mountain Parks Electric, and Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy with input from community leaders. A weatherization workshop is scheduled for December 10 at the Fraser Valley Library.
Building on Xcel Energy and Mountain Parks’ best practices that save energy and deliver financial savings, the Grand County Energy Action Plan seeks to foster a future in which all residents, businesses and visitors have access to energy that is affordable, dependable, and clean. The Energy Action Plan establishes a countywide goal to double annual participation in residential and business energy efficiency programs by 2026.
Throughout 2025, Grand County residents and businesses will have the opportunity to learn about energy efficiency opportunities, discounts, and rebates through outreach activities led by Sustainable Grand, Mountain Parks Electric, and Xcel Energy Partners in Energy, in collaboration with Grand County communities.
The first opportunity for residents eager to learn more about weatherization will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at the Fraser Valley Library in the Community Room. The workshop, hosted by Sustainable Grand, will include an overview of Grand County weatherization programs, tips for where homes typically lose heat, and money saving DIY tricks. Free food, expert speakers, and giveaways are planned. Residents are asked to sign up in advance: https://mailchi.mp/sustainablegrand/weatherization-workshop
